Branch is inaugurated
in Pristina

November 2nd 2007,
Banka
Kombėtare Tregtare ( BKT)
officially opened its branch in
Pristina.
BKT is a licensed bank in Albania, which shareholders are
the Turkish group “ Calik Holding” (60% of capital),
European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and
International Financial Corporation ( World Bank group) with
20 % each.
President of Kosovo, Mr. Fatmir Sejdiu, officials from
Kosovo, Albania, Representatives of Calik Holding, as well
as of BKT , and Members of the financial community of Kosovo
attended the opening ceremony.
In this address, Mr. Sejdiu valued the banking system as
the best example of direct foreign investments in Kosovo.
The
Managing Director of the CBAK Mr. Michel Svetchine,
welcomed the opening of the BKT branch in
Pristina and stressed
that
investors are not waiting for the status definition to
invest in Kosovo.
Thanks to foreign investors, the banking industry now
comprises two large international banks, three and maybe
soon four regional actors, and two locally owned
institutions.
Mr. Svetchine enlightened that a well balanced structure of
the industry, with an adequate number of players, has a
positive effect on competition and on supply of financial
services, for the best of Kosovo economy.
