About alleged vacuum at the head of the CBAK
It has been stated in
some news papers that the CBAK has been operating without any
Chairman for at least one year. That is why, CBAK would like to
provide the public with the following information:
Until
the expiry of the mandate of the Chairperson (Mr.Ajri Begu) on July
24th 2007, the Governing Board of the CBAK had a Chairperson
appointed by the SRSG . For instance, from January 1st 2007 until
July 24th 2007 eight Governing Board meetings took place – all of
them chaired by the Chairperson Mr. Ajri Begu.
From January 1st 2006 until December 31st 2006 eleven Governing
Board meetings took place - all of them chaired by Mr. Ajri Begu.
Consequently, no vacuum occurred in the Chairmanship of the CBAK
Governing Board.
As
an additional information, please take note that after the end of the
initial six years chairmanship mandate of Mr. Ajri Begu – that
is in December 2005 - his mandate was continuously extended by the
SRSG for successive periods. No need to emphasize that the
Chairperson had at his disposal the necessary means ( financial and
material) to perform his duty.He had access on his request to any
information regarding the activities of the CBAK.
During these 2 years , all Board decisions were taken unanimously.
