13.July.2007. The Central Banking Authority of Kosovo (CBAK) has presented today its Annual Report for year 2006 to the President of Kosovo  Assembly Mr. Kole Berisha, in line with the provisions of the new Regulation on CBAK, namely article 9.2

During this meeting, Mr. Ajri Begu, Chairman of the Board of the CBAK, stated that he is pleased to present to the President of Assembly for the first time an annual report on behalf of the Board of the CBAK.

Furthermore, according to the provision of the article 9.2 of the said regulation a presentation of the situation of the financial sector in Kosovo will be made to the Assembly.

Mr. Michel Svetchine, Managing Director of CBAK, presented the main outlook of the Kosovo economy in 2006 and enlightened that the financial sector could be assessed as one of the asset of Kosovo.
Than, Michel Svetchine stressed the necessity of having a stable environment in order to attract foreign investors. In that respect, he welcomed the positive efforts of the use of euro in Kosovo.

Mr. Hashim Rexhepi, Deputy Managing Director of CBAK for Financial Supervision described  the developments in the financial sector, with a special focus on ongoing investments made by regional investors in the financial sector of Kosovo.
Mr. Hashim Rexhepi also mentioned that the financial sector provides now the Kosovo clients with the basic financial services.

Mr. Gani Gerguri, Deputy Managing Director for Central Banking Operations presented the main achievements regarding the capacities of CBAK namely in the field of  economic study and statistics, payments system and in the financial services  provided to the  Treasury.

The President of Kosovo Assembly , Mr. Kole Berisha welcomed the opportunity to share views about the developments in the financial sector of Kosovo. He enlightened the necessity to have a well performing and secured financial sector to develop the economy and strength ten the independence of the CBAK. He also welcomed the positive internal achievements made by CBAK.
