CBAK Managing Director Honors the Signing of the Loan Agreement between New Bank of Kosovo (NBK) and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)
Pristina 14 November, 2006 – Today at the premises of the Grand Hotel Prishtina, New Bank of Kosovo officially signed the loan agreement in amount of € 3 million with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). The loan is being provided under the EBERD-Italy Western Balkans Local Enterprise Facility.
The loan will enable NBK to onlend finance to micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs). Technical assistance will also be provided to support NBK in its lending activities and to develop tailored credit skills, increase outreach to MSME clients, and to develop new loan products. It will also help improve risk management and strategic business planning. NBK is the forth commercial bank operating in Kosovo to receive such credit lines from EBRD.
On this occasion and about the importance of such arrangements between commercial banks and International Financial Institutions spoke the President of Kosovo Mr. Fatmir Sejdiu, Head of UNMIK Pillar IV Mr. Paul Acda, and also The Managing Director of the Central Banking Authority of Kosovo Mr. Michel Svetchine.
