Merging of NLB – Kasabank and NLB – Banka e Re in NLB – Pristina

In the course of its meeting held on December 18th 2007, the Governing Board of the CBAK has approved the merger between “NLB – Kasabank” and “ NLB – Banka e Re “ into an integrated bank “ NLB – Pristina”.

The shareholder structure of NLB – Pristina will be Nova Ljublanska Banka together with Factor Banka ( both Slovene banking institutions) : 80.39%, and other shareholders ( individual and companies from Kosovo ) : 19.61%.

Thanks to this merger, an institution with a strong regional banking support could offer financial services to Kosovo’s economy .
It should be noticed that with the licensing of NLB – Pristina and TEB (Turk Economi Bankansi SH.A), as well as with the licensing of branches of Banka Kombetare Tregtare and Komercijalna Banka , in the previous months, the Kosovo banking sector shows its capacity to attract foreign investors. The Kosovo banking sector is also moving toward a high level of integration into a regional ensemble.
